This draft relates to the website of Ashmore Men’s Shed Inc., at 139 Currumburra Road, Ashmore QLD 4214. It does not replace any separate membership or workshop policies.
Information we collect
When you make an enquiry, we ask for your name, email address, an optional phone number, the enquiry type and your message. Donation offers also include item details, condition, quantity, suburb or postcode, and transport information. We record your consent and the submission date. Please avoid including sensitive information, such as health details, in a website enquiry.
Website administrators provide an email address and name. Passwords are stored as secure hashes, rather than readable passwords. Administrative activity and temporary anti-abuse records are recorded to protect the website.
Why we use it
Enquiry details are used to respond to your question, discuss a visit or membership, and manage the request. Website enquiries do not subscribe you to marketing. Authorised administrators can view and manage submissions in the website dashboard.
Storage and service providers
The website is designed to use Cloudflare hosting, database and file storage. An approved email provider may process notification and password-reset emails. Enquiry notifications contain the information you supply.
Confirm before adoption: the final providers, access arrangements, processing locations and countries where information may be handled outside Australia. The hosting design does not guarantee Australian-only data residency.
Cookies, analytics and external services
A necessary session cookie is used for administrator sign-in. No visitor analytics or advertising pixels are currently enabled. Temporary security records support spam prevention and login limits.
The Contact page includes an embedded Google Map. It loads as you approach it on the page and connects your browser to Google, which may process technical information and cookies under its own privacy policy. External links, including social sites, are covered by those providers’ policies. If Cloudflare Turnstile is enabled for spam prevention, it processes technical visitor information; this policy should be updated to confirm that configuration.
Retention and deletion
Information should be kept only while it is needed for its original purpose or an applicable legal requirement. Administrators can delete enquiries and associated notification records.
Confirm before adoption: enquiry retention periods, backup retention, review responsibility and a procedure for deleting information from associated email inboxes. Deleting a dashboard enquiry does not recall an email already delivered.
Access, correction and complaints
Contact info@ashmoremensshed.org or call 0481 408 881 to request access or correction, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to confirm your identity before providing personal information.
Confirm before adoption: the nominated privacy contact, response timeframe and complaint escalation process. Information about Australian privacy rights and complaints is available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Keeping information safe
The website uses encrypted connections, protected administrative access and role-based permissions. The committee should restrict accounts to those who need them and remove access when responsibilities change.
Photographs
Photos carried over from the previous website show the Shed and its activities. The committee should confirm image permissions and member consent. Contact the Shed if you have a concern about a photograph.
Updates to this policy
Review this policy when website features, providers or information-handling practices change. Confirm an adoption date and review owner before marking it as approved.
